On February 24, Jeroen Baijens of AHH received the architecture award of the city of Rijswijk.
The price for the extended school Stationskwartier was awarded by councillor René van Hemert.
A few nice words from the jury statement:
"The building does not fall into the trap of the usual 'frumpishness' which is often conceived for a primary school. This school is a place where both adults and children feel at home, with lots of different places for diverse activities." and "an honest and direct use of materials without to much decoration, with refined detailing of the materials used."
After the award ceremony, the children, under the guidance of Jeroen Baijens, the contractor, members of the welfare committee, some parents and the teachers worked on a model of their "dream place".
